This is a matter of taste, a bit. Basically, do you prefer the type system to catch your mistakes (even if that causes some extra coding) or not?

Most licenses include a copyright notice with your name, and also require the whole license file (including the notice and your name) to accompany and distribution of the source or derivatives. ISC is a good example of a clear license that includes this requirement
