in reply to @ 2016-35 02:42 UTCWhich is why I expect it to be included.
in reply to @ 2016-34 22:52 UTCyes, though I'm not sure it's in any databases but the library and archives of Canada and the canadian isbn registrar (I haven't submitted the ISBN anywhere)
in reply to @ 2016-32 17:52 UTCIndeed. Historical unions seem like a good idea. Modern unions abuse workers

in reply to @ 2016-32 16:44 UTCSailfish is not FLOSS. Replicant is, but never supports Wifi. So Cynagenmod is probably your closest on that device
in reply to @ 2016-32 13:26 UTCIs wine not included in Parabola? Isn't this it: https://www.parabola.nu/packages/community/i686/wine/ ?
in reply to @ 2016-32 03:57 UTCself-host. would only take a couple minutes
in reply to @ 2016-31 23:20 UTCsyncthing is the best
If you want to rent storage, rsync.net
in reply to @ 2016-31 16:35 UTCI have always used openenc myself, but I imagine ffmpeg will do a good job. Usually it does.
in reply to @ 2016-31 13:11 UTCYou have to choose how you apply the ethical questions of free software to your own life, but there's no difference between an "old" proprietary game or and "emulated" on and any other proprietary video game you might run. Not from an ethical / freedom perspective.
in reply to @ 2016-31 13:09 UTCOpus. It's got no legal problems, pretty broad support, and beats every other codec on quality-per-bit
in reply to @ 2016-30 04:25 UTCBased only on your description, it seems more like they're going to start enforcing the right already given them by law than anything else, since you don't "copyright" things and you can't trademark a format…
in reply to @ 2016-30 01:26 UTCNot sure which debacle you're talking about. I do know they recently stole some music from a well-known CC artist.
in reply to @ 2016-30 01:25 UTCBlender?
in reply to @ 2016-29 20:25 UTCAlso there is http://brotherswhim.com/product/sticks-masterpiece-hardcover-book
in reply to @ 2016-29 20:24 UTCI made a physical board book (for infants and small children) based on Big Buck Bunny last fall. So some physical copies of that exist, all under CC-BY-SA
in reply to @ 2016-28 13:20 UTCsure, that would be neat, but I think reasonably-documented packages can make it as clear to the human as non-orphans
in reply to @ 2016-28 04:09 UTCNo. It is a lot. More than I run with, and I never swap
in reply to @ 2016-28 04:07 UTCAll of my intel-based laptops are 32bit. My desktop is 64bit but I run 32bit on it because back when I did the install it was still safer for compatibility, etc. Especially for gaming
in reply to @ 2016-27 15:26 UTCHaving a seperate package to add an instance seems reasonable to me if the instance should exist, but neither the package for the class nor the package for the type ought to depend on the other.
Just needs to be clearly documented that these other packages exist (on one of the before mentioned packages) and then it is effectively not an orphan. Not quite.
in reply to @ 2016-27 14:26 UTCAs far as I know zfs has zero chance for inclusion in the Linux kernel ever
The current ZFS implementation, anyway. Someone could write a new one. Or write one based on the GPL'd read-only driver in GRUB.
in reply to @ 2016-27 14:13 UTCIt makes no difference if you alter the sprite. The only question is if any part of the game art counts as "derivative" because of the mix. I think if you make a sprite sheet or whatever, that's clearly derivative and that file must be share alike. If you make objects designed for the sprite to hold or interact with, etc, those may be derivative as well. Even code that controls special features of that sprite maybe. Other assets are less likely to be affected.
IANAL. TINLA.
in reply to @ 2016-27 04:10 UTCalso archive.org (they have a lot of the jamendo catalog and some other stuff) and musopen
in reply to @ 2016-26 20:39 UTCAlways ZFS. BTRFS is a poser
in reply to @ 2016-26 18:16 UTCUm, no.
in reply to @ 2016-26 12:46 UTCNo almost. The word "distro" is misleading — they each are their own OS.
